My former 5ers a/c would have to be "spin" started after setting for awhile, but it sounds like you have a motor issue.

RE: wanted: family friendly floorplan for FT living

I know everyone has an opinion, but we are going to move down from king bed to queen. Would rather have the extra "moving around" space and we are already used to queen. JMHO. :B
Ditto on the queen.

RE: Short in electric heating element?

I had to crawl in behind my heater but I got the element out. You'll need an element socket. It's standard size the same as the one in your house.I even replaced mine with one from home depot for about 6 bucks.Don't pay RV prices if you don't have to.I bet it's your problem,I turned mine on without water in it and zapped it.

RE: autoformers

I was camped at anastasia st park in st augustine,fl this weekend and the power at the pole was 105 volts with nothing turned on. This has been an ongoing problem there and is the reason I have an autoformer cause I love the park and using my franks make it possible. The franks kept me at 110 to 115 all weekend with A/C,fridge and electric water heater going.

RE: anyone else getting a scooter for local transport?

Dave, you mention staying at a campground a few miles from the golf course. If you play the same course often, could you rent a locker or otherwise store your clubs there? Drive the first round and leave the clubs, then ride the scooter the other times? No need to worry about carrying clubs that way.
I took my clubs on my bike by using a small carry bag with a strap.
I would wear the bag on my back by dropping the strap over my head and left arm.Wearing it quiver style like an archer does.

If the guy seemed fairly "normal" I would have moved it once. When he said he didn't like the spot I would have said sorry but I gotta go.

RE: anyone else getting a scooter for local transport?

Yes and in 30,000miles that cheap scooter will be toast/ broken or you will!!!! people do not see you on a scooter I road a MC for years until I got tired of being run over.
in the 70s gas crisis everyone tried every gimick to save $$ in the end the ones who cut back their driving and didn't spend $$$ solely to save $$$ won.
If you want a scooter get one for the fun ... they are, but for me just too dangerous on the road Just watch the news soon you'll see stories about all the injuries from inexperienced riders etc etc.
Of course YMMV to ea there own only my opinion
There are stories everyday of injuries in a car wreck, lets not look only at motorcycles.I've been riding for 34 years and have not had an accident.I can't say that about my cars,I've had 3 (none my fault).

RE: anyone else getting a scooter for local transport?

Just don't kid yourself that the idea is to save money. You will never recover the cost of the scooter, the insurance and license in fuel cost savings. Buy one-they are fun!!
Jim
WRONG!!
The wife will be getting 80mpg as opposed to 14mpg with her durango. Her round trip daily is 25 miles. She still works till the house sells which is not working out so well:M.It'll take time but it will happen. We take delivery tommorow. It is 250cc so it will ride us both at highway speed and still fit on my rear carrier at 325 pounds. All for $1795 delivered.

Travel trailer rolls on I-95 in florida.

Yesterday jun 28 I was southbound on I-95 just south of jacksonville and came upon a white pickup lying on its roof which was partially crushed.Bystanders were tying to help someone in the cab.Closer to the road and also upsidedown and detached from the truck was what was left of a TT I guess in the 30' range. All there was is the floor and frame. The rest was disintegrated the next 100 yards down the interstate along with all the personal belongings. Both were facing the wrong way like they had spun and rolled.Anyone know the outcome of this tradgedy?

RE: A sad story. Please open link.

This is a tradgedy that should not of happened.I pulled a 20' TT with a durango for years and it was a handfull.I cannot imagine why I would think a 35' TT would be safe behind that mid-size SUV.

RE: Axle went bad....

I have a Jag II that I just bought last year. Well, we went on a couple of long trips (Out West and Out East). While on the last trip my wife noticed that one of the tires was going bald on the outer 2 inches of the tire. While at one of the stops, a guy came out to our campsite and rotated the balding tire to the other side and told me it looks like a bent axle. Well, we made it home and now it is in the shop. Should I have to pay to get it fixed? Also, has this happened to others in such a short time after buying a new trailer?
thanks for the comments.
You could have one of the dreaded Alco axles that they had lots of problems with.
If you search Alco axles on here you should find lots of reading. That was only a 2003-2004 situation. What year is your trailer?

Well I guess you convinced me. I will have a professional weld a hitch to the back then. Thanks
Good idea, this spring I watched a class C pull into the campground dragging his bicycles from his broken bumper mounted hitch. Ouch:(
I am waiting on delivery of my 2 person scooter that will be carried on my frame mounted carrier.:B

RE: Little punctures in our Rubber Roof

Sounds like you drug a tree limb across the roof or you had a critter with sharp claws up there (squirrel).Use eternabond patches over the suspect areas and don't worry about them.
